God has a might foot.

Friday mornings are often challenging. The unanswered e-mails have built up and the "must be done by the end of the week pile" seems to have grown larger and not smaller by each passing day. On a weekend like this I become reconciled to being in the office on the coming holiday and just when I am about to start wallowing in stress and caffeine induced grumpiness God delivers a powerful kick to my rear end to remind me how blessed I am to be at this school.

First of all, one smiling face after another enters the office to do battle with the congealed block of chocolate gummie bears and their smiles become infectious as we joke and chat about the weekend to come and then the coup de grace; as the students dissipate I randomly open one of the several hundred e-mails that need to be answered before the day is out to read:

Student selected prompt: “If you died and had to look back on your life, what would you miss most?

Student Answer:  “If I died one day, and I could look back at what I would miss the most it would be the community of Holy  Spirit Prep.  I would miss Holy Spirit Prep because it was the only school I ever went to, and all the kids and the teachers were really nice.  I would miss playing basketball with all my friends.  I would miss going to school so early every morning, and seeing my friends’ faces.  Even after school, hanging out in the lobby with my friends, I would miss a lot.  I love the Holy spirit Prep community and never want to leave it.”

OK God, I got the message.
