Advent on campus

It seems very strange to be sitting in an abandoned campus a week before Christmas Eve. All of the excitement of intercession has dissipated, Christmas greetings have been shared between those that will not see each other for several weeks and even the figures in the Nativity scene seem lonely as they await the addition of the baby Jesus in the empty manger. The next seven days will truly be a time of waiting for those of us on campus until on the morning of Christmas Eve many of our alumni will return to their teenage home and from that point forward we will celebrate the coming of Christ.
