This was Day One in the public blogosphere and as at the end of the afternoon the blog has been viewed today by over 300 people in 4 countries. (Who are you in Brazil and Canada?). I know that "stickiness" is what keeps a blog going therefore I promise that I will work on finding something interesting to say in the future
This morning I attended the annual Archdiocese of Atlanta In-service Mass and a talk by a guest speaker; a Nun from Rochester, New York. At HSP we are fortunate to be invited to spend time with educators from our sister Catholic schools at these events while enjoying our status as an independent Catholic school. As I listened to this veteran religious / educator speak of her experience of typical relationships in Rochester between Catholic school teachers and the parents & students that they serve I was reminded that it really is "a little different" at our school and that I am very grateful for that fact!
Note to our friends at the Archdiocese: Coffee is essential at an Inservice!
It was announced today that during his visit to Britain this month, Pope Benedict will use Latin in celebrating Mass “to emphasize the universality of the faith and the continuity of the Church,”. Who knows, if this trend continues our requirement for Holy Spirit College students to practise Gregorian Chant as well as taking Latin classes might once again become a norm in Catholic universities!
