Fall in North Georgia

What a glorious fall weekend! The Pig Roast on Friday night was an event that offered companionship and an abundance (actually an excess) of manly foods; not a salad in sight. A special thanks to Pete Radosta who spoiled me constantly and served me a greater quantity of delicious food than I had eaten on Thanksgiving and Christmas days combined. The event grows larger and better organized every year but as far as the landowner is concerned remains a mystifying "flashmob".

The fun(d) run and picnic were as joyous as always with multiple generations playing in the sun. After the rain and gloom of the week, God truly reminded us how blessed we are as a community.

In response to suggestions: YES we will offer a half-marathon for next year. For those brave souls that compete in such events regularly or have always aspired to do so I promise that the "bling" for all who finish will be suitably unique and impressive :-)

I would not normally mention the events of Saturday evening at Montaluce, however, a number of guests were quite insistent. I will simply observe that given a need to relieve accumulated stress a group of sober and supposedly mature adults really can revert to adolescence and that breakfast cooked over an open fire at 2am while admiring the stars can be quite delicious.

Tomorrow, Father Paul Moreau, Bob Pelletier and I will head to Delaware for Tylor's funeral. In the meantime I want to thank so many of you for the kind conversations, calls, e-mails, texts, cards and notes. They have each provided great support over the last week.
